We are in search of a committed professional aiming to take on a key role in the advancement of our compliance framework.
You new job
Your work tasks will be very diverse, and your qualifications and interests will be taken into consideration as much as possible. Your role will be proactive, and you will work closely together with the business.
You will have the opportunity to work independently and put your fingerprint on a challenging but important agenda, but you will also be working closely with the rest of the team.
You can look forward to a truly diverse and challenging working day where you will encounter a variety of tasks, including:
- Supporting stakeholders with advice on various compliance matters within export controls, international sanctions, anticorruption, and competition law, e.g., advice in connection with contract or tender negotiations, advice on how changes in legislation affects various parts of Demant across Demant Group’s multiple jurisdictions etc.
- Assisting with the further development of the compliance program, including monitoring new legislation, and ensuring that changes are properly addressed in policies, procedures and guidelines within export controls, international sanctions, anticorruption, and competition law., conducting due diligence etc.
- Assisting with tasks relating to our whistleblower hotline, including investigations.
- Developing and updating policies and guidelines and assisting with implementation across Demant Group’s multiple jurisdictions.
- Training of colleagues on export controls, international sanctions, anticorruption, competition law and our whistleblower hotline.
When carrying out your tasks, you will work with colleagues across all business units and affiliates globally. You will also have the opportunity to work with external experts on selected matters but more importantly you will obtain a unique and in-depth understanding of Demant’s business.
The job is in our headquarters in Smørum, from where you have a flexible working environment with possibility to work from home up to two days per week. Your manager will be Head of Group Privacy & Compliance Sara Munch Andersen. She will be a sparring partner to you for help and guidance.
Become part of our engaged and fun team
You will become part of our international Group Privacy & Compliance team consisting of two specialist subgroups (Privacy and Legal Compliance). This position is for the compliance-leg of the team. All team members are enthusiastic about supporting our business with compliance while we are also trying to have a great time doing so. The tone is informal, and your input will be valued and encouraged.
The team is a part of the larger Demant Group Legal & Compliance. The group in Denmark consists of more than 20 highly skilled and motivated colleagues with a great team spirit. Acknowledging the parenting responsibilities of many employees, Demant ensures a work setting that provides the required job flexibility.
Globally, we are more than 50 team members and common for all is our dedication to support our business grow.
What we are looking for
We are hoping to find a new colleague with the following qualifications:
- A degree in law (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or equivalent degree if you are educated outside of Denmark).
- Ideally 1-2 years’ experience from either a law firm, in-house counsel or other relevant legal experience
- A good understanding of business ethics or at least a strong interest in the topic.
- The ability to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of legal advice.
- Great interpersonal skills to have good interaction with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to explain complex information in a clear, concise and compelling manner
- Excellent English proficiency as this is our corporate language.
- Knowledge relating to trade sanctions will be considered an asset but is not a requirement.
