We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join Oticon Medical in Askim, Sweden.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team working on both new product development and emerging technologies. Our multi-disciplinary project teams typically include experts from R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Design micro-mechanical components—taking them from initial concept through to production
     
  • Product development and mechanical design for implantable devices
     
  • 2D and 3D CAD modeling (we use PTC Creo)
     
  • Build and test physical prototypes, iterating based on results
     
  • Optimize designs for cost efficiency and manufacturability
     
  • Support change management, updating designs and specifications based on feedback
     
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of materials, designs, and documentation
     

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should bring:
 

  • A passion for hands-on mechanical design and product development, with a focus on user needs
     
  • Experience with hardware development projects and knowledge of fine mechanics (plastics experience is a plus)
     
  • A BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
     
  • Relevant experience in mechanical engineering, whether you’re early in your career or more experienced
     
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D design (PTC Creo preferred)
     
  • Strong skills in technical documentation and attention to detail
     
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
     
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, is a bonus
